South west of Jaipur, Ajmer is an oasis wrapped in the green hills. Today, Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for the Hindus as well as Muslims. Especially famous is the Dargah Sharif-tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, which is equally revered by the Hindus and Muslims. Pushkar is a holy town in the state of Rajasthan famous for the Pushkar lake, various ghats and temples spread all around the lake.
Pushkar Lake, it is surrounded by 52 Ghats, Brahma took bathe here and performed Yajna. It is believed that when Sati (wife of Shiva) died, Shiva cried so much, his tears created two holy ponds, one at pushkara and second is Ketaksha.
